DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Camilo Torres (BUAP)\nNuclear medium effects on B^+
meson production are studied using the binary-collision scaled cross secti
on ratio between events of different charged-particle multiplicities from
proton-lead collisions. Data\, collected by the CMS experiment in 2016 at
 a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of √(s_NN ) \, NN=8.16 ~TeV\, co
rresponding to an integrated luminosity of 175~nb^(-1)\, were used. The sc
aling factors in the ratio are determined using a novel approach based on
the Z→μ^- μ^+ cross sections measured in the same events. The scaled r
atio for B^+ is consistent with unity for all event multiplicities\, putti
ng stringent constraints on nuclear modification for heavy flavor.\n\nhttp

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Lucia Eréndira Gutiérrez Luna (UNAM)\nEn este trab

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Monica Salinas (monica salinas_mon@outlook.com )\nEn

will give an overview of some modern techniques used in the calculation of

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: You Tiann-Tevong (King’s College\,London)\nThis
talk proposes a direct link between the hierarchy problem and Weakly Inter
acting Massive Particles (WIMPs): we suggest that the small mass of the Hi
ggs boson arises from being dynamically driven to the scale of the WIMP. S
uch a special electroweak vacuum is singled out by lying close to the crit
ical boundary of a phase transition\, as recently explored in a new class
of cosmological solutions to the hierarchy problem. They generically predi
ct the Higgs potential to be destabilised just above the weak scale. Intri
guingly\, the requirement for new physics to achieve this coincides with t
wo independently well-motivated expectations: a split spectrum of light fe
rmions and heavy bosons\, as anticipated from naturalness\, and the so-cal
led "WIMP miracle". A WIMP with mass around the weak scale not only happen
s to have the correct thermal relic abundance to be the dark matter (DM)\,
it can also give rise to the necessary critical boundary at the TeV scale
through its Yukawa couplings to the Higgs. We use a higgsino-like singlet
-doublet model to illustrate our Higgs-DM criticality scenario and show th
at if this WIMP DM mass is observed to be greater than ~1.2 TeV then it ne
cessarily implies a strong bound on the Higgs mass and an upper bound on t
he scale of heavy new physics that restores vacuum stability. It can be th
oroughly probed in direct detection experiments\, astrophysical signals an
d future collider searches\, further motivating a comprehensive exploratio
n of the remaining heavy WIMP parameter space.\n\nhttps://indico.buap.mx/e

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Sabrina Pasterski (Perimeter Institute)\nThe hologra
