DESCRIPTION:Due to a state of emergency that Puebla keeps as a result of t
 he recent earthquakes affecting Mexico\, we have been forced to suspend th
 e Chico 17 event scheduled to be held in the near future.\n\nThis activity
  will be rescheduled soon\, so we kindly invite\, all those interested i
 n participating\, to be attentive to the publication of the new dates.\n\n
 Also\, we are confident that some other events held and promoted by Ciffu\
 , will rise your interest and support.\n\nThanks.\n\n \n\nOne of the acti
 vities of our center  during 2017\, is the workshop “Cosmic Higgs Conne
 ctions\,“ which is expected to become one of the main events of CIFFU\, 
 and is planned to be held every year.\n\nThis workshop will attempt to cov
 er recent progress in Higgs physics and related topics\, which is a  trad
 itional reserach area  at BUAP.  Besides covering Higgs phenomenology\, 
 both at the Precision and Energy frontiers\,  working within the Standard
  Model and its extensions\, it  will also discuss the interfase between H
 iggs physics and Cosmology. This includes: phase transitions\, vacuum stab
 ility\, baryogenesis\, scalar dark matter and inflation\, among others.\n\
 n \n\nThis workshop will serve to identify those reserach topics on funda
 mental physics\, that will serve as an umbrella for  our group\, to stren
 ghten the areas we already work on and to start new collaborations on thos
 e topics that deserve to be studied.\n\n \n\nTo fulfill  these objective
 s we plan to invite leading world experts and outstanding local collegues\
 ,\n\nto  deliver courses\, review talks and specialized seminars on Higgs
  Physics\, Cosmology and related ones.\n\n \n\nFor the 2017 CHICO worksho
 p  we have invited the following experts:\n\n \n\n1. Marcela Carena (FNA
 L\, USA)\n\n2. Shinya Kanemura (Osaka\; Japan)\n\n3. Ernest Ma (UC\, River
 side\,USA)\n\n4. Eduardo Peinado (UNAM\, Mexico)\n\n5. Abdel Perez-Lorenza
 na (Cinvestav\, Mexico)\n\n6. Alex Stuart (UCOL\, Mexico)\n\n7. W. Hollik 
 (DESY)\n\n \n\nLocal speakers\, postdocs and students will also present t
