The study of cognitive processes from a mathematical and computational modeling perspective has undergone great development in recent years. The models that have been proposed in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and cognitive neuroscience, have been supported by mathematical models, resulting in a multidisciplinary field of research. People in physics, mathematics, biology, programming, engineering, and psychology have joined forces to address a wide variety of cognitive processes. The areas that have been investigated the most are categorical learning, memory, information processing, multitasking capacity, among others. In this talk, we will learn about the fundamentals of these models, and we will learn about some of the studies that have been carried out and the applications that they entail.
