The CMS and TOTEM collaborations study the potential of central exclusive production of a neutral boson and an additional massive particle, where the two colliding protons survive after exchanging two photons. The surviving protons are then detected using the CMS-TOTEM precision proton spectrometer (CT-PPS). A key challenge is the possibility of background events mimicking the signal. The primary expected backgrounds are identified as originating from top quark pairs (tt), diboson (WW, ZZ), and Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) processes, all of which might be associated with protons that could contaminate our signal-like selections. We incorporate Monte Carlo (MC) simulations to validate our methods. In particular, WW and QCD studies utilize an official MC production generated by PYTHIA 8 and are presented in this talk.
