Descripción

It is known that accelerated relativistic systems can lose their structural integrity. This can be verified for a classical two-body problem such as two oppositely charged particles in Rindler space. However, can the hydrogen atom preserve its internal structure under large accelerations? And in that case, can it function as a two-level system that detects Unruh radiation by absorption or emission of radiation? In this talk we show a computation of the corresponding transition amplitudes for such processes.
